Solid State Materials
forElectronics

At the Solid State Materials for Electronics (SSME) lab, we investigate materials that display physical phenomena and responses of relevance for electronic applications. The SSME lab is headed by prof. dr. Beatriz Noheda and comprises two groups, led by prof. dr. Beatriz Noheda and dr. Graeme R. Blake, respectively.

What We Do

We are particularly interested in ferroelectric, piezoelectric, thermoelectric, ferromagnetic, multiferroic and memristive oxides. Our approach consists on exploiting the symmetry-property relationships by achieving high control of the materials structures at different length scales, combined with a detailed understanding of the physics mechanisms.
